The 12th International Conference on HHV-6 & 7 in Himeji, Japan was a wonderful experience with investigators from Europe, China, India, Australia, Canada and the US sharing their research. Many new relationships and collaborations were formed.
Tetsushi Yoshikawa, MD, PhD was awarded the HHV-6 Foundation’s “Dharam Ablashi Lifetime Achievement Award” which was presented by Phil Pellett, PhD and Conference Chair Yasuko Mori, MD, PhD.
Anthony Komaroff, MD was given a special “HHV-6 Foundation Distinguished Service Award” for his efforts to promote a better understanding of HHV-6 over several decades through the authorship of numerous high-quality reviews and advisory assistance to the HHV-6 Foundation. The award was presented by Louis Flamand, PhD.
The "Caroline B. Hall Young Investigator Award for Excellence in Clinical Research" was given to Hiroki Miura, MD of Fujita Health University School of Medicine. The award was presented by Tetsushi Yoshikawa, MD, PhD.
Huamin Tang, PhD, of Nanjing Medical University was awarded the "Koichi Yamanishi Young Investigator Award for Excellence in Scientific Research". The award was presented by Koichi Yamanishi MD, PhD and Yasuko Mori, MD, PhD.
